Summary |
This study is a critical appraisal of the operations of the L.I.C. during the period of nearly two decades, taking into consideration the objectives set forth and the expectations aroused at the time the life business in the country was nationalized. Such an objective assessment is warranted, particularly now, in view of the demand increasingly voiced by the public for a cut in the L.I.C.s premium rates and enhancement of bonus payments on its participating policies. This book assembles, analyzes and examines the available evidence on these and other issues to draw appropriate conclusions.
