Summary |
The material in this volume is intensely practical. It is not concerned with legal abstractions and esoteric concepts. Rather, it deals with those concrete legal principles and situations encountered in the ordinary course of business by the field and home office representatives of a life insurance company. Knowledge of these principles by those engaged in the life insurance business should reduce the volume of litigation and lead to more effective and economical service to the insuring public.
In the selection and treatment of topics, this material reflects its textbook origin and orientation. In order to keep the parent volume from reaching encyclopedic dimensions, the author had to treat some topics with more brevity than their importance justifies and had to omit other topics altogether. The need to exercise restraint in the choice and development of topics was particularly acute in the area with which this volume is concerned.
