Summary |
The study begins with a brief analysis of the historical development of creditor protection and the forces underlying this development. It then proceeds to an analysis of the laws of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and those of the federal government which have to do with the protection of life insurance policies and proceeds from judicial processes of ordinary creditors, secured creditors, alimony claimants, tax collectors, the bankruptcy trustee, and others.
The study is not only concerned with the rights of creditors of the insured and creditors of the beneficiary, but with the economic and sociological effects of relieving debtors or their life insurance from their obligations.
