Summary |
This book is designed as a guide both for claimants who wish to recover damages arising out of ocean carriage of cargo and for carriers who wish to defend against such claims. The Court decisions cited and explained have been chosen so that they will be of value to insurance company and steamship company claims agents, as well as to the legal profession.
The plan of the book is based on the burden of proof that a claimant, and then a shipowner, bears under the Hague Rules.
The book therefore describes in order how a cargo claim many be prosecuted and defended.
