The Department of Commerce, Pondicherry University organized three days International Conference on Micro Finance from 23 to 25 January 2008 with an objective of providing a forum of economists and socialists to address the issues of micro finance, especially the conference focused on:
•Provide a forum of economists and socialists to address the issues of Micro Finance
•Evolve strategies for sustaining insurance, savings and credit to eradicate poverty
•Collaborate with National and International Research Centers on Micro Finance
•Take education to the field and to promote people’s participation in eradicating poverty through micro finance
•Involve the administrators, policy makers, NGO’S and the public concerned in the adoption of sound policies, which would create economically stable and financially healthy India.
