In this book the authors have exposed this Blatant hypocrisy and projected in bold relief the subconscious arrogance of the high castes, and the forced resignation of the harijans to the lowly status assigned to them by an unequal society. The other stories too highlight the conflict between principles and expediency, between emotions and reason, and between chauvinism and universalism.
