Summary |
This book is build around the experiences of a physically handicapped boy turning into manhood, its theme is fundamentally serious and the story deeply moving. However, this is not conveyed by the author through unrelenting solemnity, but by a remarkable blend of directness, humor and irreverence.
Firdaus Kanga was born in 1959. He has spent most of his life in Bombay, the city in which he was educated and grew up, and aspects of which are wonderfully evoked in this novel.
