Summary |
The book reveals the process of transformation of an Indian village from subsistence living to making a decent living by adopting scientific practices in agriculture during mid 60s particularly after nationalization of Banks in July 1969. The book also depicts the historical, social, religious, caste system joint families and cultural phenomena of the village which are interlinked with economic development of a particular area. The book also speaks out the pattern of living of the people of the village, their opinions and attitudes on socio-economic development of the village and their demands for availing of the facilities of urban life in a village society. The book also informs that although data were collected from a particular village for ascertaining Social impact of Banking, Technology and Development on the Village but due consideration has been given on national and international perspective of the concerned matters for drawing a universal conclusion. Hence, here lies with the novelty of the book to see larger whole through smaller one.
