This volume presents NFPA standards in the field of building construction and equipment. It is not a building code, through much of the material henein will be connection with the drafting and application of building codes.
The standards in this volume should be applied with due recognition of the fact that safe building construction and equipment per se may not be the complete answer to any individual fire problem and that the control of fire hazards, extinguishing and alarm equipment and other features covered in other volumes of the National Fire Codes should also receive consideration.
