Summary |
This book looks at the measures that may be used to control the various types of operational exposures to risk. As many of these measures have their genesis in the identification and assessment phase of the Risk Management Process, the early part of the book examines, albeit from the point of view of controlling risk, some fundamental features of risk management.
The basic concepts of controlling risk are explored in terms of how these may be applied to risks other than fire. There are of course a number of control measures that are specific to a particular type of risk and these are also discussed at the appropriate points in the text. Unlike in the earlier edition of this book the chapters on fire risk control have been grouped together towards the back of the book. However, it is not intended that this text should provide the complete up to date answer for every situation, but rather it should provide the reader with a basic framework that may assist in solving risk control problems.
