This book contains the papers of the researches and the academicians. The section on Institutional Finance broadly deals with major institutional and technological changes in the Banking and Insurance sectors required for facing the challenges posed by liberalization and rapid growth. The papers included in this section highlight the need for broadening the outreach of the formal financial institutions so as to attain the twin objectives of inclusive growth and sustainable development.
The second section on Financial Market deals with issues relating to Capital Market Money Market and Derivative Market and highlights the challenges faced by these markets. A few papers in this section deal with the effects of FDI and FII on the financial market and contain detailed analysis of factors influencing market fluctuations. The third section is on Microfinance. The various papers under this section highlight the excellent initiatives taken by all concerned to uplift the poor and the downtrodden in our society by ensuring economic and social empowerment. Inspite of these initiatives, however, a large percentage of people both in the rural and urban areas remain socio-economically disadvantaged. A few papers seek to examine the causative factors and come out with prescriptions to bridge policy and implementation gaps.
