Pension Mathematics for Actuaries is an intermediate level textbook covering the mathematics of pension funding and valuation, including a discussion of ancillary benefits, contributory plans, assets and the selection of actuarial assumptions. The text includes exercises, a glossary of notation, and an index.
This edition comes nearly twenty years after the last one, and has been revised the many significant changes in the world of pensions since then: new accounting rules, new actuarial standards of practice and cheaper and faster computers, to name only a few. Much of the discussion has been sharpened up to make the exposition clearer, and new material has been added concerning the selection of cost methods.
