Summary |
The concept of Tridosha, and that is based on scientific principles, has been accepted unquestioned. There is clear recognition of the fact that the three Doshas are bioregulatory principles, on the basis of which the body sustains itself.
The most important part of this volume is the first chapter, which explains Ayurveda against a background of extensive and critical comparison with modern medical science. A pure science without doubt, Ayurveda is certainly not based on assumptions, as many doctors in the West think. It therefore, becomes essential to study Indian Philosophy in detail before entering into a comparative study of the two systems of medicine.
