This book ‘Modernising organizations experience of durgapur steel plant’ has basically adopted case study approach with focus on Durgapur steel plant. It captures the initiatives and processes which were adopted to ensure implementation of the projects and fullest utilization of the modernized facilities. The book also shares the insights of the total process, which the study team could develop during the study. It however, is not, and connot, be a narration of all the steps which the modernization process of Durgapur steel plant had followed. It, chronologically, presents the scenario at Durgapur before the modernization, planning and decision making process with regard to technology, response and attitudes of trade unions, efforts on skill and attitude development, micro human resource planning etc.
