Summary |
The book is divided in 6 parts
Part I of this book presents the foundation and overview for the information systems approach and serves as the frame of reference for the other five parts. The subsequent parts of the book contain general descriptions of information systems in each of the functional areas, the progress toward total information systems encompassing all functional areas, and the special concerns with information systems. Thus, the book is a board survey of many diverse areas within an organization that are viewed from the perspective of the systems analyst. From another standpoint, it can be described as a special method for (a) identifying flows associated with decision-making activities throughout an organization, (b) evaluating information flows, and (c) designing new information flows.
