Summary |
The book is addressed to readers who have a working knowledge of the differential and integral calculus. Following the introductory material, which includes a problem-centered review of certain basic topics in probability and statistics, each chapter contains (1) the general theory and techniques of a particular problem area in operations research, (2) a number of completely solved problems demonstrating these techniques, and (3) a number of problems for the reader to solve, some with answers. Each of Chapters 4 through 10 is concerned with a separate area, in operations research, and is complete in itself as a teaching unit.
