Summary |
This book is an attempt to identify and warn of the main hazards found in industry and to provide appropriate references for further study. Here within a single volume, it is possible to find quickly the information needed on any hazard without having to thumb through numerous publications.
The book has been written for safety specialists, representatives and students, for managers and engineers responsible for design, production, inspection and maintenance in industry, as well as insurers and lawyers whose work is concerned with industrial accidents and their consequences.
The book contains six main chapters, each comprising a number of sections and sub-sections, and three appendices. The titles of the chapters and main sub-sections should provide a clear understanding of the form and objectives of each part of the book and render further explanation unnecessary. Although the book is intended mainly for reference, it is hoped that the reader will be tempted to browse until eventually he is familiar with most of the contents.
