This first Unit contains the basic technical knowledge you’ll need so that you’ll understand what you’re doing when using audio equipment or making recordings. It can be used as a reference section for technical queries at a much later stage, even months after you’ve finished the whole Package. It’s important to study this first Unit at the beginning because it’s not principally a reference, it will give you essential knowledge for the rest of the Package. The Video tape for this Package, although not essential will probably help you. It’s divided into three sections, covering the three study Units. It’s essential to work through each study Unit completely before watching the relevant section of the Video. If you find things in the Video that you hadn’t realized before, go back to the relevant part of the written material and study it again.
