Subrogation and Contribution embrace many areas of law such as contract, tort, restitution and insurance and are two areas of claims enquiries which historically have tended not to be well understood and applied by claims officials and adjusters.
This text is intended to set out the legal principles and an outline of the relevant law of which claims officials and adjusters should be aware in order to be able to carry out their enquiries more efficiently.
The book is not intended to be an exhaustive treatise on the law but does include detailed reference to important cases on various matters.
The structure of the book is such that, especially in respect of ‘subrogation’, various points are introduced and mentioned again in later chapters in order to demonstrate the relationship of various salient features of the topics
