     Summary

This book is the second edition of “An Introduction to Working in the Lloyd’s Market”, which was published in 1987 by Robert H Brown F. Inst. A. M. ACII (Marine Insurance Training Services) and John Wormell MA FCII Cert Ed MBIM (Insurance Education & Training Systems) for the guidance of personnel who are new to the practice of working in the Lloyd’s market. The notes, are primarily, designed to be used for in-house training courses conducted by MITS and IETS and their scope is limited to the fundamental principles of contracts effected in the market and to basic market procedures covered by such courses. In addition to their value to MITS trainees, the notes provide a useful means of self study for Lloyd’s brokers, underwriters and others connected with the Lloyd’s market who wish to refresh their knowledge of the fundamental principles on which the insurance contracts they conclude are based and the market in which they operate. Personnel studying for the Lloyd’s introductory test may find the notes particularly useful to supplement course instruction.
