Summary |
This book is designed round the work of a fire precautions manager, and is primarily intended for senior management having responsibility for fire precautions and for men who are responsible, or are about to become responsible, for carrying out the duties of that office. At the same time, it has been so arranged that it can be used by students of the subject and as a book reference.
It is not intended that this book should be a treatise on the causes of fire, nor is it intended to cover all aspects of building for fire safety. These are subjects which require a library of their own. It is also realized that there are alternative fire precautionary measures to those given in the book but, as far as possible, the best possible advice is given rather than the minimum requirements.
