Summary |
In publishing the Second Edition of this book, the author has taken to add a chapter which deals exclusively with Industrial Insurance, containing references to the various Acts which govern this class of insurance, to their object, and to the cases in which these Acts has been explained by the Courts. The recent Acts which deal with this subject have been set out in the Appendix.
On the other hand, it is thought that so difficult and complicated a subject as Marine Insurance cannot with advantage be included in a work of such a general character as this volume; the chapter on Marine Insurance has therefore been omitted, although the references to Marine Insurance in other chapters, so far as they throw light on the general subject of insurance, have been retained. Readers who require fuller information than is contained in the Appendix will no doubt refer to one of the well-known text books dealing with this special subject.
The book has been brought up to date by the inclusion of the most recent decisions of the Courts relating to insurance.
