Regardless of the name of the policy the prime consideration is the perils and exposures insured against, and whether a package, a package and one or more monoline polices, or a combination of monoline policies is the proper recommendation. Several important new policies have made their appearance as replacements for familiar forms, reflecting the emphasis on simplified language. The new policies provide excellent protection but, logically, there are limitations on extraordinary exposures. It is important for agents and brokers to know the limitations of their products and to provide additional or supplemental coverage for special exposures of individual insureds. “ Coverages Applicable” as a check list of available coverages and hazards, is a practical guide for this purpose. It will help you produce the right coverage prescription for most accounts.
