The present work is an effort to present to the reader a comprehensive view of Life Insurance (except the Offices and Field Administration). Most of the chapters give a detailed discussion of the theoretical aspects, followed by a description of the practices followed by the Life Insurance Corporation of Indian, which alone is offering policies to general public. The last four chapters are exclusively devoted to Life Insurance in India. These Chapters are based on whatever information could be received from the agencies concerned.
The twenty-four Chapters of the book have been divided into four parts. Parts I deals with the Nature, Types and Uses of Science of Life Insurance (including Annuities). Part II deals with the Science of Life Insurance. It is further divided into two sub-parts. Sub-part A deals with the Science of Rate-Making and Sub-part B with the Science of Financial Management. Part III deals with the Legal Aspects of Life Insurance Contract and Life Insurance Business. Par IV deals with Life Insurance Business in India.
