     Summary

This book is intended to help those who are appointed as trainers in organizations for the first time and have not had any opportunity to prepare themselves for the job of a trainer. These persons are usually left to fend for them-selves and pick up the ways of performing the trainer’s functions, which they do, by observation (of others) and/or by imagination or learning from mistakes. Many of them are creative enough to make a good job of it in course of time, but they do stumble to begin with. Courses for training of trainers deal mostly with methodologies of training, needs identification and so on but do not spend much time on some of the elementary aspects of a trainer’s job, which though elementary, contribute significantly towards trainer effectiveness. This book is an attempt to deal with such elementary aspects on the presumption that help is required in this area.
