This Subject encompasses tow main areas –Part A which covers communication and Part B which covers management. The Communication aspects of the course are contained in Sections 1-8 (Part A) of the manual Section 1 covers the objectives of the communications course and Section 2 looks at examination technique. Section 3-8 examine the various formats of written communication, including reports, discussion papers, articles, memoranda, letters, brochures and leaflets. Part B of the manual, which covers Sections 9-14, covers the management aspects of the course. The sections follow closely the order of the syllabus. Section 9 covers oral presentations, Section 10 covers project planning and finance, Section 11 covers computer information systems and the appendix to that section provides a glossary of commonly used computing terms. Section 12 explains the principles of sound staff management and Section 13 provides an understanding of the principles of management of change. Section 14 provides guidance on how the case study should be tackled in the examination.
