ABOUT THE BOOK

The book is concerned with the application of the scientific method of the study of the phenomenon of accident and to the development of ideas which enable this phenomenon to be understood and controlled within the broad context of the processes which lead to damage, injury or ill health, of which the accident process is but one. The title reflects the accident term only because this leads to a more immediate understanding by potential readers of the subject matter of the book.
