Summary |
The object of this book is to explain in simple terms the basic legal principles of professional negligence, to consider how the liabilities attaching to the professional man may be insured against and the cover afforded by such insurance.
Professional negligence is a subject which is assuming greater importance. In many professions it is a matter f concern that every year the number of claims against professional men increases. This trend, however, is but a natural development of the times and is in keeping with the modern claims consciousness on the part of the general public. Years ago clients would have hesitated at suing their professional advisers for negligence but today such hesitancy no longer exists. This is not surprising in an age where the public are more aware of their legal rights and remedies than at any other time, and are, moreover, in a much better position to exercise them than ever before.
