     Summary

The contents have been divided into four parts. The first part, which contains the first three chapters, gives basic material on queueing concepts and methods and on probability theory. The second part contains two chapters. The third part, consisting of five chapters, is concerned with non-Poisson queues, which are studied mostly for cases in which statistical equilibrium has been reached. Chapter 9 is particularly concerned with the study of waiting times. The fourth part also contains five chapters and is concerned with the effect of various queue disciplines, special networks of queues, and a variety of queueing phenomena.
