The most productive way to study the present text is (1) to examine the outlines at the beginning of each chapter in order to gain a board picture of the basic subject matter covered in the chapter, (2) next, skip to the end of the chapter and read the questions for review and study to obtain an idea of the depth with which the subject matter is handled and the types of issues that one should be able to deal with intelligently after reading the chapter, (3) then, read the chapter thoughtfully, keeping the basic outline in mind so as not to lose sight of the chapter’s organization and direction, and (4) study seriously the questions, and make an effort to answer them from the text discussion. All questions in these chapters are geared directly to the text, and the designed to be used as an effective aid in the learning process.
