This Research Study attempts to find out whether the Rate of Settlement of Claims for motor third party claims is significantly lower than that for other classes of business. The conclusion reached is that the settlement rate is as low as 23.5% against 66.5% in 1984 for all classes of business put together. Significant conclusions are also reached regarding average time taken to settle third party claims and the average claim amounts involved.
