Summary |
The book is organized in three parts. The first two parts deal with the programme of change, the strategy employed, the results obtained and a discussion of selected aspects of the programme. The third part uses W.R Reddin’s framework of organisational change and discusses each of his factors as they apply to the LIC programme. In the last three chapters some propositions are made about organizational change. These concern issues connected with management of traditional organizations, the leadership and the factors in changing organisational culture.
The data for the first two sections is obtained through interviews and internal documents. The size of the sample and the criteria are not discussed. The study perhaps includes all offices of L.I.C. It is however, not clear whether zonal offices are covered or not, though Zonal Managers are indeed included in the study.
