Summary |
The book contains materials that serve a double purpose. In the first place, they codify the ethical standards the maintenance of which is expected of both holders of and candidates for the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation. The Code of Professional Ethics with its canons and rules of professional conduct describes these standards; the Guidelines and opinions assist in interpreting them; the Disciplinary Rule, Procedures and Penalties describe the manner in which alleged violations are to be investigated and adjudicated in compliance with the requirements of due process of law.
A second, equally important function of this volume is to serve as a textbook for the Professional Ethics segment of the CPCU curriculum.
