Summary |
Early in 1914 the Institute of Actuaries and the Faculty of Actuaries in Scotland had formulated a plan for the continuous investigation of the mortality of annuitants and of assured lives; the proposed method of procedure had been circulated to the offices and general agreement had been reached. The intention was to investigate not only the mortality of annuitants and of assured lives accepted at ordinary rates but also assured lives subject to special risks, etc. on line similar to those made familiar to actuaries by the American investigation.
