The purpose of this treatise is to provide a handbook of casualty claim practice, for the student, the novice, and the experienced claimsman. For the student, it can be utilized as a text, for the novice a guide, and for the experienced claimsman as a deskbook or handy reference.
It approaches its objective by contemplating (1) the law creating the responsibilities to pay damages, (2) the responsibilities which may be the subject matter of insurance, (3) how and to what extent insurance can be provided, and (4) the procedures to be followed leading to the ultimate disposition of each claim.
