Insurance Institute of India (III) is a Research Centre for Ph.D. Degree in Commerce (Business Management) recognized by the University of Mumbai (MU).

The Program: The Ph. D. Program is offered in Commerce (Business Management) under the University of Mumbai (MU). Initial 6-month course work is mandatory as per MU rules, if the candidate has not completed M. Phil.

The Eligibility: The candidate must have Masters Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject with 55% from a recognized University/ Institute and qualified in PET of University of Mumbai or NET/ SET/ JRF or as specified by MU in its ordinance. OBC/ SC/ ST and any other special category will have relaxation applicable as per MU rules

Admission Process: Applications received from eligible candidates would be scrutinized and shortlisted candidates would have to undergo an interview by a panel comprising experts from Academics and Industry.

Fellowship/ Scholarship: Students admitted for Ph.D. would not be eligible for any fellowship/ scholarship/ grant/ financial support from III. However, under the Ph.D. programme, there is no embargo for Research Students in seeking/ availing financial assistance from their employers or any other sources on merits, subject to the same being disclosed to III. Based on academic relevance and merits of the case, III may solely at its discretion, consider granting financial assistance to Research Students for attending/ presenting papers at seminars/ conferences and other academic activities relating to their research work.
