In order to promote academic research, III has established a system to provide Research grants/award for candidates pursuing doctoral studies  in the Domain of Insurance.

The Research Grant Scheme of Insurance Institute of India provides a prestigious opportunity for Ph. D. researchers of UGC approved institutions to obtain a financial incentive (Research Grant) for their research in insurance and related areas. Applicants are required to submit their proposals online detailing their research objectives and methodologies. This would be supported with signed hardcopies to be submitted offline. The selection process is rigorous, focusing on the importance and potential utility of the research for the Insurance industry.
